The voting process is going on, marking the weekly update of the TOP 100 Public Voting 2025. This week focuses on Engineering, where Gaia Turbine, qCella, and RTDT Laboratories are currently in the lead. However, it's important to remember that the TOP 100 Public Voting 2025 is a marathon, not a sprint. We encourage everyone with a LinkedIn account to continue casting their votes as the competition progresses. You can select the 10 most innovative Swiss startups until July 20, 2025.
Every year, the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award showcases the 100 most innovative and promising Swiss startups chosen by a 100-strong jury of leading investors and experts. The TOP 100 Public Vote runs parallel to the expert jury ranking and highlights outstanding Swiss startups that will be celebrated on stage at the award night on September 3, 2025.
This year, we will honor one Public Voting winner for each of the 10 verticals (Biotech, Cleantech, Engineering, Fintech, Foodtech, ICT, Medtech, Proptech, Robotics, and Security). We will provide updates for each vertical separately to keep up the suspense. This week's focus is Engineering, where a tight race is underway between Gaia Turbine, qCella, and RTDT Laboratories. Innovators in the Engineering sector are developing technologies that apply scientific and mathematical principles to design systems, structures, and devices that address pressing industrial and societal challenges. Discover the three Swiss Engineering solutions that have received the most TOP 100 votes so far:

1. Gaia Turbine: The company has developed a plug-and-play micro and mini hydro turbine, designed to maintain high efficiency across a different range of water flow and head jump, allowing for rapid and easy installation without the need for major infrastructure.
2. qCella: The startup disrupts the well-established and high-potential market of electrically powered heated products with its easily shape-customizable, flexible, and paper-thin heating mats.
3. RTDT Laboratories: The ETH Zurich spin-off is developing sensors & software to make wind turbines more efficient and more profitable. Our focus lies on aerodynamic & structural assessments to improve control systems & designs of wind turbines.
The race is still wide open, so keep spreading the word! Startups can share the link to the startup.ch voting page with friends, family, and followers and encourage everyone in the network to vote for them. Remember, every vote counts!
Even though there is no award for the most creative TOP 100 Public Voting tweet, we are impressed by your ideas! Follow the hashtag #TOP100SSU on X and LinkedIn to stay up to date on the results and see the creativity of Swiss startups!
