Closing the loop on composite materials
Composite materials--made by combining resin with fibers (carbon or glass)--have revolutionized many industries: automotive, aerospace, marine, wind, etc.
These materials are incredibly light, durable, and versatile, but very hard to recycle at the end of their useful life. So instead they are landfilled or incinerated 600,000 tonnes of composite waste in 2023 in the EU alone.
Composite Recycling has pioneered an economical and low-emission process to transform clients waste into high-quality reclaimed fibre and oil, and we have developed a post-treatment that cleans the reclaimed fibres so we can sell them to downstream manufacturing clients for use in making high-value new composites.
We are now ramping up production of our recycling units for rollout in Europe and the US.
