Read moreThe TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award ranking has become a benchmark in Switzerland’s startup ecosystem. To make sure the startups get all the attention they deserve, we will feature the top startups in each vertical. We are finishing strong with the TOP proptech startups 2020 that revolutionize data-driven real estate valuations, 3D concrete printing, evaluating architecture characteristics, and improving buildings’ energy balance.
Every year, the 100 most innovative and promising Swiss startups are picked by a panel of 100 leading investors and startup experts. Each jury member nominates 10 Swiss startups that are less than five years old and show the greatest commercial potential. The first-placed company gets 10 points, the second 9, and so on. All these individual rankings are compiled to generate the final TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award ranking, which recognizes the startups that have most impressed all 100 jury members. In the coming weeks, we will look at the top startups in each vertical.
1. PriceHubble
PriceHubble uses big data analytics and AI to evaluate residential properties and assess locations. The proptech startup has offices in Zurich, Berlin, Paris, and Tokyo. Partnerships—such as that since the beginning of this year with Check24, the largest comparison portal in Germany, and with Japanese asset manager WealthPark—enable further growth.
2. Mobbot
The Mobbot robot uses 3D concrete printing to produce customized concrete parts for infrastructure projects in civil engineering. The production of expensive molds and costly transport of prefabricated elements weighing tons are no longer necessary, enabling an increase in productivity and flexibility. In June this year, the proptech startup closed a financing round of CHF 2.9 million.
3. Archilyse
Archilyse’s software enables the quality of architecture and real estate to be objectively measured, assessed, and compared using simulations and machine learning. More than 100 qualitative characteristics of a property are recorded and visualized in 3D. The ETH spin-off raised CHF 4 million in venture capital in autumn 2019 and is now expanding its market presence to the Asian region.
The TOP 100 Public Vote runs parallel to the expert jury ranking and allows the public—everyone with a LinkedIn account can cast one vote—to choose the most promising startup.
Proptech winner Public Vote: Heizungsmacher
Heizungsmacher enables sustainable investments to improve the energy balance of the buildings: The startup helps people replace their old gas or oil heating system with a heat pump. The platform connects homeowners and professional service providers and digitizes the sales, planning, and services processes for one of the biggest industry sectors in Switzerland.
