In our digital world, data is a precious resource—and a popular target of attacks and abuse. This makes cybersecurity a vital and attractive sector for investors: in 2022, Swiss security startups attracted over CHF 24 million in funding. For the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Awards, 100 investors selected the most promising Swiss security startups that are no older than 5 years.
The annual ranking of the TOP 100 Swiss Startups has become a benchmark in Switzerland’s startup ecosystem—and beyond. Every year, a panel of 100 leading investors and startup experts chooses the 100 most innovative and promising Swiss startups. Each jury member nominates 10 Swiss startups that are less than five years old and show the greatest commercial potential. The first-placed company gets 10 points, the second nine points, and so on. The individual rankings are compiled to generate the final TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award ranking. In parallel, the TOP 100 Public Voting allows everyone with a LinkedIn account to cast one vote and choose the most promising startup per vertical.
Discover the security startups that impressed the TOP 100 Jury and the public the most with their innovative security solutions that keep our data and networks safe.

DECENTRIQ, #18
Cyber security startup dh technologies AG—or Decentriq—operates hermetically sealed data cleanrooms for its customers in the clouds of the major providers, in which data from various sources can be evaluated in fully encrypted form. The company has been providing trust and privacy to major players in healthcare, advertising, and finance sectors that need to collaborate with external partners on sensitive datasets. In 2022, the company not only won Microsoft Swiss Startup of the Year but also secured USD 15 million in funding to expand its activities. At the most recent Microsoft developer conference, CEO Satya Nadella himself delivered the keynote speech, in which he highlighted the relevance of confidential computing: the establishment and operation of hardware-protected islands in the clouds of major providers such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. In the corporate world, confidential computing is considered a megatrend, but it is still hardly known to the general public. "It’s a classic B2B technology," explains Maximilian Groth, CEO and co-founder of Decentriq. In addition to the Swiss army, Roche and the city of Zurich are among the customers of the Zurich security startup. Together with their respective partners, they analyze data on patient population and population structure in Decentriq’s data rooms. www.decentriq.com
